COMPETITION

submission from book-of-flights: Have you read or have an opinion on this: http://www.girl-detective.net/sonnet_excerpt.html ?

I hadn’t, but I’ve just read it, so thanks for the submission! As much as I like random Shelley in books, I’m not a fan of mystery books and I don’t think this is particularly well-written…But yeah, I do appreciate the fact that the author has based it around a Shelley sonnet! It would be better if the mystery could only be solved through advanced literary analysis and close readings of Shelley’s poems, but then as an English student I would say that.

Actually, this reminds me of something I meant to do ages ago:

COMPETITION

SHELLEY FANFIC. Whether it’s 500 words or 50,000 words, as long as you’ve written it and it features Shelley and is at least slightly insane…please submit it. Shelley/Byron is always welcome, but Shelley/Keats, Shelley/Leigh Hunt, Shelley/Trelawny (lol) are also encouraged. Surprise me. It doesn’t have to be slash! But come on, you know you want to. Oh, and it has to feature Shelley as a person in some way, not just his poetry.

Deadline is the 31st of January. Winner gets a postcard of the manuscript for “Ode to the West Wind” and maybe something else depending on how poor I am.

Submit it through tumblr, or email me at thirteenthfloorvendetta@hotmail.co.uk

P.S

If you write the fanfic in sonnet form, you’re the instant winner.
